Module 19: Reconstructive Procedures on the Lower Urinary Tract

Numerous reconstructive procedures performed on the urethra and the urinary bladder are demonstrated and discussed. These involve repair of both simple and complex urethral diverticulum and urethrovaginal fistula with and without a Martius fat pad transposition. A pubovaginal sling in conjunction with urethral diverticulum repair and urethrovaginal fistula is also demonstrated. Techniques for managing urethral stricture with complete urethral reconstruction, as well as urethral reconstruction for complete loss of the posterior urethra are discussed and demonstrated. Multiple examples of vaginal and abdominal repair of vesicovaginal fistula are discussed and demonstrated. The final chapter deals with repair of a vesicouterine fistula.
