Module 16: Retropubic Procedures

Retropubic procedures for stress urinary incontinence and paravaginal defect repair are demonstrated and discussed. A detailed description of retropubic anatomy using both cadaver dissections and a live surgical patient are demonstrated. Surgical techniques to access the retropubic space and techniques for modified Burch urethropexy, Marshall-Marchetti-Krantz procedure and retropubic paravaginal defect repair are all demonstrated. Also shown is a technique for retropubic takedown of a previous suspension. The final chapter deals with commonly asked questions.
